After a difficult deliberation…

This has taken me a while, but I’ve finished thinking about the results of the poll, and after taking everything into consideration, this is what I have decided on.

Slot 1: High School DxD 20 —> Seikoku no Ryuu Kishi —> High School DxD 21
Slot 2: Shinmai Maou no Keiyakusha v3, v4, v6 —> Hagure Yuusha no Aesthetica v2

Hagure Yuusha no Aesthetica: By doing this, I’ll have completed the ‘Holy Trinity’ of ecchi light novels :S
Shinmai Maou and Hagure Yuusha are written by the same author, and apparently he’ll be going back to writing more Hagure volumes soon. Volumes 3, 4, 6 and newer of SMnK still need to be completed, and I’ll be working towards that with J2270A and Arsl31 – the official Chinese release is only up to v7 at the moment. I then plan to move on to HYnA and switch between these two if necessary.

Sekai no Owari no Encore: I’ve spoken to Code Zero about this one. He is still translating at his own pace, so just be patient. There is also something else which is a good thing for this project and you may hear about it soon.

Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou: This is already a web novel which has been translated. The light novel has a few volumes out. Yes, I’ve heard that the early parts of this are poorly done, but it has been done nonetheless and that should make it easier for someone who wishes to pick up the LN.

Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sō Desu yo?: Actively in translation by another translator(s).

Seiken Tsukai No World Break: This was simply my personal bias. I didn’t enjoy the anime very much, and I feel as though the LN would be a bit tedious to translate.

Seikoku no Ryuu Kishi: This seems to be a rather interesting harem story. It’s almost finished I think? Anyway, there’s a lot of content/volumes to do on this one, which will make it a good long-term project alongside DxD. It feels like a waste that only 5 volumes out of 20 have been translated.

Isekai Mahou wa Okureteru!: Like Arifureta, the web novel has been translated. I’ll assume that the LN wouldn’t have any major changes and is basically a revised version  of the WN. I feel like it doesn’t ‘need’ a translator urgently.

Infinite Stratos: Have read volumes 1-5 of this one and found it quite entertaining, but there wasn’t much actual plot. Only one or two volumes and it’ll be up to date, but that’s because it’s had some publication issues and is coming out rather slowly. Perhaps a project for another time, or for another translator.

Magi Craft Meister: Same reasoning as the other WNs really. There have been various people who translated the WN, which is why I feel less inclined to translate the LN.

Fate/Apocrypha: Last updated in October, but nonetheless, it hasn’t been announced that it’s been dropped and given Fate’s popularity, I think it would find a new translator if it does get dropped. I would just give it a bit more time.

Feel free to agree or disagree with me, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. For the WNs, I feel that having some kind of translation is at least better than none, which is why they ranked lower on my list. I predict that it will be many months before I look for another project again, so I apologise for not being able to do everything in the poll – I wish I could, but I’m only human after all.

“and apparently he’ll be going back to writing more Hagure volumes soon. ” <- those are good news. After all, it seems that he had left it in a cliffhanger (or so they say, as translation hasn’t reached so far).

Triple ZX you are the man bro, if and when you translate Hagure Yuusha no Aesthetica and also SMnK you will totally be my savior, I had just finished the last translated volume of Hagure and am dying to read more so thank you in advance if you translate it. The Ecchi holy trinity will be completed for me with that.

Last I checked I thought Testament/Aesthetics’s author was a woman not a man….>.> Then again I could have misinterpreted that podcast…..and the person who came for Testament was actually the illustrator and not the author…..

According to ‘anidb’ site, the author of Shinmai/Hagure, Tetsuto Uesu is a male. The illustrator of Shinmai, Nekosuke Ookuma is also a male. I’m not sure about Hagure’s illustrator Tamago no Kimi which means ‘the yellow of an egg’. On the ‘Danbooru’ site, an illustrator named Tamago no Kimi is listed as male but I’m not sure if he’s the same guy. Also, one of the chief animators of Shinmai, Shen Hong is female.

Hello recently you gave me permission to distribute my PDFs of Shinmai Maou on my blog. I am here to ask permission to do the same for Hagure Yuusha as well. I didn’t originally plan on doing HYA because of how incomplete it is on B-T.

Shame really. My personal pick would be World Break since reincarnation romance is really my thing. Plus I want to get more in depth with Shu Shaura and Witch of Underworld side of the story.

Good luck for your other project.

I got a question, do you know if there are any Chinese raws for Hundred, Hybrid X Heart or Swords and Wizards?

I’m not really sure. I suck at looking for Chinese raws because I don’t know how the English or Japanese title would translate into Chinese. Those novels didn’t get many votes in my poll so I didn’t look them up.

I hope infinite stratos will be on slot 2 after everything in slot 1 is done, so what ever currently in slot 2 will end up being in slot 1

I am glad to hear that Hagure Yuusha’s author will be writing more volumes of it. And it also tops your poll. Thank you for picking it. Looking forward to its progress.

    Hooray for Ecchi Trinity!

Harem Trinity has born lol nice choice of LNs, btw i think seikoku need more priority than shinmai since shinmai anime version can be said almost already cover all the latest volumes(vol1-7 excluding vol 8&9) well its just a suggestion though

Hagure hasn’t had a new volume in 3 years. The last thing the author said was that he’d focus on his more successful work, Shinmai, and I haven’t heard any news of it being picked up again.

Seikoku no Ryuu Kishi has finished. There are complaints of its repetitiveness regarding the author’s fetish.

Please do Infinite Stratos…never. There will never be any plot and it’s unlikely the author will do any, much less continue it.

I must say I’m disappointed. I’m glad you picked up Seikoku no Ryuu Kishi.

It’s a good light novel, and it’s finished with 20 volumes.

But if you were to take two projects, I’d have preferred Sekai no Owari no Encore.
You say we need to be patient, but still, he took I-don’t-know-how-many months to finish half of the first chapter. I know we can’t ask for more when we don’t anything but still.

May I ask what’s the news about it? Or at least where we’ll hear about it, since I don’t follow everything.

Though, in the end, it’s your choice so I guess we can just agree with it.

I won’t HYnA now, but wait until there are new volumes out since it’ll be a waste of time if I were to read and learn that it was cancelled. In case a new volume is released, I’d have more volumes to read in one go, so it’s all good for me.

Thanks for choosing ryu kishi and hagure. 2 Lns I really wanted to read.

And quick question, Shinmai vol3 chapter 3’s status is incomplete on baka-tsuki. Any chances you can finish it ? Or know if the TL is planning to finish it soon ?

Thanks for picking up Hagure Yuusha. Personally, I’d prefer if you translate volume 6 instead of volume 2, since the anime covers volumes 1 to 3, but hey, it’s your decision I guess.

So thanks for the news and have a great day/night 🙂

Well, I wanted Fate / Apocrypha was translated but I will not bother you for it, the series only has five volumes and had already been completed, with two already complete so it’s not much work but meh, do not complain

I just hope that someday maybe you can translate it and I continue to be, what, pass

I, for one, am happy with the chosen LNs. Now every TL update is going to be even more interesting. And you’ve already added Seikoku to the tabs and TLed a bit of its V6 C2. Great!!

And yeah, Seikoku is finished publishing, according to BT anyway.
